dimensions for uploading images?

Hi!

Two parts to this, hopefully one solution for both. I really just want to know what size to upload both poster images and head shots. What I'm uploading gets cropped heavily. Perhaps they're to large? The head shot is formatted to portrait as a note.

The information IMDB provides  on there image help section ' aspect ratio of 1:0.675' ?

I have uploaded the head shot via IMDBpro but didn't see sizing options to at least choose the cropping. Not that I want the cropping at all.

So, there has to be some tried and true size guides from the infinite amount of users out there.

Poster with major cropping http://www.imdb.com/title/tt6850724/?ref_=nm_knf_t1

Head shot also cropped http://www.imdb.com/name/nm8967409/?ref_=tt_ov_dr

Stating the obvious... These are not cropped by me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Hi Thom,

I'm sorry you are having trouble with your image uploads. You correctly identified the right aspect ratio, but images are also subject to the following requirements:
Accepted Formats: PNG and JPEG/JPG

File Size: A maximum of 15 megabytes

Width: Must be a minimum of 300 pixels wide

Primary Photos: Primary photos are subject to additional requirements. They must be of you, and only you, with your face clearly visible; in portrait orientation; and at least 1000 pixels wide.

You should try resizing your images to 15 MB maximum and reuploading. Let us know if you are still having trouble.

Hi Steve,

I wish I could identify that aspect ratio. It really doesn't make sense to me. 1:0? 675?

My images are uploading fine so it's not a format or size issue. It's dimensions.

15megs is quite large for online if the original quality is very good. So I don't feel like that's the issue either.

Can somebody provide a more exact dimension? For example an image sized at 4x3, or 8x11 or whatever IMDB wants. Which dimensions does IMBD like best? Not size! Those are very different things. It's understood that the image size should be at least a few meg for resolution quality.

Thank you,

Is that the same as what you uploaded? Did it crop that image?

That size will work okay. This pic is a just a template size for you to work with.
