DEVALUED RATING
Hello, for several years, my film Surviving Bokator has received excellent reviews and ratings from critics and audiences alike. this was reflected on IMDb where I held a steady 9.4 rating. I am a western filmmaker and my film is not political nor does it make any statements to that effect. Recently, Surviving Bokator was caught in the crosshairs of a culture war launched by Thailand against Cambodia (where my film takes place). It was attacked by Thai loyalists who have never seen the film and given ratings of 1 and 2, which downgraded my overall rating. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt9135286/ratings?ref_=tturv_sa_3 (also See attached).
How can this be repaired or can a system be instituted to ensure that non-audiences or amateurs cannot rate a film. thanks.

Hi @markbochsler -
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.
Our voting system already detects and defeats attempts to stuff the ballot and skew the rating, as demonstrated by the difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean on the vast majority of titles in the database.
For additional information about IMDb ratings and weighted averages, please refer to our FAQ.
Cheers!
