Denial of a goof in Clear and Present Danger

Why was this denied? It is a fact and not an opinion. If the president were to follow Jack Ryan's advice of admitting he was lifelong friends of the person that was killed by the drug cartels, that would not diffuse the press but actually make them dig deeper into his relationship and the story would not go away. Anybody that has been paying attention to how the media works for the last four decades would know this to be a fact. Could you please reconsider your decision ? 23 December 2025#251223-205448-155000 Clear and Present Danger(1994) 1 itemGoof   Declined (1) GOOFADDITION While the President, his top staff and Jack Ryan are sitting in the Oval Office brainstorming the aftermath of the death of the Presidents friend who was involved with the drug cartels and died at their hands, and wondering what to put out to the media about the Presidents relationship with him, Jack Ryan goes in the opposite direction and tells the President that if they should ask if they were friends, he should say they were lifelong friends. His logic is that the media will have nowhere to go with that and that answer would diffuse any further investigative questions. That is a very incorrect assumption because not only would that not make the media investigate this, but admitting they were lifelong friends, the President would be doing half of the media's job already I open the admitting they had a lifelong friendship and it would only make the media get out their proverbial shovel and dig a lot deeper and peel away all the facets of the relationship until they truly found out what the president knew and didn't know.
