Deleting an incorrectly assigned credit and adding the correct person/profile

Hi,

I have a problem regarding an incorrectly assigned credit. I started an IMDB account very recently and when I searched for a project (Netflix Thai Cave Rescue) that I recently worked on in order to add that credit to my profile, I found that someone who shares the same name as me has been mistakenly attached instead.

I tried deleting the incorrectly assigned credits and then proceeded to try adding the credits to my profile, with various attachments and supporting evidence etc. but both requests were rejected. It’s quite clear with the photographs and details that I added as support that the wrong person has been attached to the project.

I’d just like to know if and how I could possibly correct the error in order to add the credits to my profile?  Would it require another credited cast / crew member to do it on my behalf or is it a matter of contacting someone from the production company, or perhaps more specific evidence that I need to provide?

If anyone has had any experience with this specific issue and knows how I can go about  correcting the error, then I’d greatly appreciate your advice. Thank you.

Hi slamdunc-

In order to submit a credit addition, correction or deletion (incorrect credits) request through our online Update form, you do not necessarily require someone from the production company or other cast/crew members to submit it on your behalf.

However, in the case of filmography credits, you will have to attach as much supporting evidence on the explanation box when you are filling out the information for any credit addition, correction or deletion. As our editors need to thoroughly review and verify all of the information. You can upload files, write an explanation and you can also add links on the box. Depending whether you are credited on screen or not, there are different types of evidence that can be submitted. For example:

  • Screengrabs when credited on screen (credit roll)
  • If the title is unreleased or the person is not listed in the end credits: call sheets, receipts, contracts, third party news articles, amongst others...

For more detailed information on how to add supporting evidence, I encourage you to review the following help guide on How to submit supporting evidence for casting credit verifications. Also, you can check this other one on How to correct/delete credits.

Let us know if you have any further questions/issues!

Cheers!

Hi,

Thanks for your response. So I did attach pictures of me on set and even the end credits roll from multiple episodes where my name appears, but the person who is attached shares my exact name. And my requests were still rejected. I don’t how much that can help. They had a credit in a completely different country when I was 3 years old, so it just seems very clear to me that this is the wrong Duncan Allan.  I attached a lot of evidence previously including what you mentioned. If it could help coming from another credited cast member then maybe that would be best.

I will try again using the same credit roll screen-grabs and evidence I used before and also more evidence with regards to callsheets/written communication/emails etc. from the production company and Netflix. I hope it goes through. Anyway, thanks for your response and I’ll keep trying.

@Maya hi,

Here is the 18-digit submission for my request/contribution to delete 4 acting credits from the wrong Duncan Allan (I):

14 October 2022
#221014-071455-388000

If you or any other staff member(s) could go ahead and take a look at the contribution for certainty, that would be greatly appreciated.

Also, I would like to know if I should go ahead and request to add these credits to my profile (the correct actor: https://m.imdb.com/name/nm14074266/) now or wait until the confirmation of them being deleted from the wrong profile, and then add them to my profile ?

Either way, I will post the second 18-digit submission reference number here once I have completed the request to add the correct credits to my profile.

Thank you.
