Das Boot (1985)
I think the old topic is not getting any attention anymore, but can a staff member (preferrably Dominic if he is still here) maybe look into https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/das-boot-1985/5f4a79d08815453dba8bd332
There is the problem with the number of episodes being shown incorrectly and it has been going on for a long time because somebody always changed it back from the correct number of 3 into the incorrect number of 6.
Thank you :)

Hi @steffib_6909564 ,
Thanks for flagging. I can confirm that this issue has now been resolved and I've responded on the original post.
Many thanks again.

Hold on there are six episodes. At least in Germany that is, what is widely broadcasted, streamed and sold on DVD. Looking on https://www.fernsehserien.de/das-boot I can See that we have indeed two Series. One with six and one with three episodes.

I just became curious about what differences might exist between the three and six episode versions of the series. Obviously the six part series has three more summerys of their last episode, but as you can read in the german wikipedia article the 6 part series also has some voice over diary coments of the character "Leutnant Werner". So there are Differences.
Also the six part series is more common today. I for example am a relatively young person and besides having watched nearly every thing from "Das Boot" never new there has been a three part TV series with less content. Looking back I am not realy sad about it but it was interesting to inform myself.
How are the chances to open a second entry for the six part TV series?

”More common today” is irrelavent. How was it aired originally, that is the question.
This site ( https://www.puremovies.co.uk/columns/das-boot-probably-the-biggest-german-blockbuster-of-all-time/ )says that:
”Following the huge success of Das Boot in cinemas around the world in 1981 and 1982, the mini-series was first broadcast on television in the UK in October 1984. Although BBC2 showed the original German version with English subtitles, the six parts attracted seven million viewers, reportedly achieving the highest ratings in the history of BBC2, while also being enthusiastically received by British critics. At the end of February and the beginning of March 1985, Das Boot was shown in three parts on German television (on ARD, the equivalent of BBC1), once again achieving record ratings. 50-60% of all German households (that is, up to 24 million people) were tuned in to the mini-series.”
Not sure how factual the info is, though.

If it wasn't already complicated enough: BBC/Radio Times lists the October 1984 airing as one 90-minute episode followed by four episodes of 50-55 minutes each.
