I tried to credit each person, and then I added episodes to their names, and now all of the credits have doubled and created new profiles.

big: Please post the submission reference number(s) involved with this situation -- it's an 18-digit number that will look something like 260123-123456-789000.
That will help the IMDb staff resolve this problem.

In this case if there are double name pages for the same person, you will need to submit a name merge, to have a single page for each of them.
