Credit Given to Wrong Composer for WW2 Battles in Color TV Series

Hello To All,

I am Josh Heineman, Composer. I wrote and produced all of the music for the WW2 Battles in Color 6 episode series on the Smithsonian channel, which aired in the UK and the USA. My name was listed in the credits as Joshua Heineman (which is my legal name) although I usually write under the name Josh. Unfortunately, the credit was given to another Joshua Heineman who did not write the music but has been given credit for it automatically (I assume). My effort to alter this has been rejected. I have documentation proving that I am the composer including BMI royalty statements, contracts from the production company, all of the filed cue sheets, etc. Does anyone on this forum know how to best deal with this? I really need that credit to be on my page, no disrespect to the other Joshua Heineman!

Thanks in advance for any help or advice you all may provide.

Hi Josh.

It just so happens I have the episodes handy and am planning to work on the page, so I took a look at the composer credit early and submitted you to all episodes as you are credited and submitted a deletion to the incorrect name page. This should sort out the issue for you now.

Thanks for the heads up.

@VonPunk

I've got a question related to another piece of work.

I wrote music that appears in a Netflix documentary (Bill Russel-Legend), one cue I did was scored to picture, and several others were production music library tracks that were placed. I have the cue sheets to prove it was my work. Is there a way I can list that credit on my IMDB page, or is that an issue because I wasn't credited in the credit roll?

@stutteredit For this you could be possibly be credited. If you try adding yourself in the 'Music Department' section as 'additional composer' or 'additional music' (whichever suits) with the attribute (uncredited), like so

And add any evidence you have in the evidence box and the data editors will take a look at it. I'm not staff but if you have any problems with getting it approved you can come back here with your submission numbers and ask them about it for a reappraisal. Good luck.
