Credit for a group announced by the host/presenter

If a group is announced by the host/presenter of a show at the start of their performance but is not named in the end credits, how should they be credited? In the guide for order numbers it says "first onscreen appearance where they are identified either by a caption or spoken name is used to determine the order". That seems to suggest that they should have a 'normal' credit with an order number. The guide for group names suggests that the credit should be in the name of the group.

In the particular case I have at the moment, the name shows up on the catch-up service if you turn on the subtitles:

In previous episodes individual singers appearing in that slot have been credited by name as "Self - Musical Guest" with an order number so should the same apply to a group ("Themselves - Musical Guests" as the Character perhaps).
The main reason I am asking is that a similar issue arose with the companion show the day before - "The Jersey Boys Cast" were announced by the presenter at the start of their performance but the credit I attempted to add for them was declined (with reason "Related item has been declined." presumably meaning that the addition of the name was declined).

Hi, Owen Rees. I'm always glad to hear from you. You've posed a great question. In the event that whichever IMDb staff member assigned to this thread is more interested in getting your declined filmography item correction submission reevaluated and approved than explaining what the best course of action in general may be, you might want to consider disclosing here ahead of time the 18-digit submission reference number of any submission of yours that has been declined and related to the question at hand.

@jeorj_euler I submitted the credit for the case with the screen grab shown above as 221204-212636-043000. I was waiting to see what happened to that one which had an explanation and the screen grab attached in the explanation before deciding what to do about the previous one.

It was declined "Reason Related item has been declined."

I think it would help if the policy for this sort of case was clarified.

Hey @owenrees -

This credits are usually added with the character name "Themselves", "Themselves - Musical Guests" sounds good to me. "Related item has been declined." means the name was rejected that is correct, would you mind giving me the reference number to see why it was rejected?

Cheers!

@Bethanny  here are the two cases:

The earlier one is 221202-231058-204000 one declined out of 93 credits. I have screen grabs for this one but they were not included in the submission. It needs two because the subtitles split the name of the group. Let me know if you need them.

The later one is 221204-212636-043000 - this was a single item with the screen grab above linked to the explanation using the upload option.

@owenrees This was actually an error, I am thinking the word "cast" in the band confused the editor to think it was a company name or that you were actually referring to "the cast" of some show, instead of a band. I have resubmitted both on your behalf and approved.

Cheers!

@Bethanny

They are the cast of a musical theater show.

Are there criteria for what can be added as a group name?

@Peter_pbn For group names we credit according to the way they are credited in the production. In this case they are credited (at least mentioned) as "The Jersey Boys Cast" and "The Cast of The Cher Show".
