Credit change rejected even with proof supplied

I've tried to amend a credit a couple of times now (#240326-115626-925000), and it's rejected, even though I've supplied a screenshot as proof (urn:alx:doc:937a93d2-a8ca-450d-ba84-56832d6ccf2d:3c1e2b28-fc22-418c-a604-7fdcfc56d2a6).

Can someone take a look at this and fix, please? I've had a similar issue before and normally have been able to get the changes approved myself.

Cheers!

Hi @Hatticus24 -

The problem was the credit was submitted to the incorrect department. "Visual effects editing" should go into the visual effects department list.

Cheers!

Hi Bethanny, I know what department I work in. All my other credits are correctly listed in Editorial. The screenshot clearly shows me listed in the Editorial department, as does my contract etc.

I've flagged this issue with IMDb before a few years ago.

@Hatticus24 As mentioned in the guides linked above vfx editor belongs on the visual effects department.

Thanks!

The guides are incorrect, in that case. I’m employed by the Editorial department.

I discussed the two different types of VFX editor in my earlier post a few years ago.

@Hatticus24 Hi!

Even though you are employed by the editorial department, we categorize credits based on the role performed, and as mentioned previously, Visual effects editing roles are listed under the Visual Effects department.  In the meantime, we have forwarded your comments to the applicable team for visibility.

Thanks!

The role performed is an editorial role, though. Hence being employed by editorial and credited with editorial.

Hi @Hatticus24 -

We appreciate your feedback, however, as mentioned by my colleague, any  editing that is performed under visual effects will need to be credited in the Visual Effects section, the same goes for sound editor credits which belong in the Sound Department.

We regret that we have not been able to address your concerns to your satisfaction, or take the actions you have requested regarding credit placement listing on our site.

Our community staff will not be able to offer any additional insight or action on the matter.

Thank you for your understanding.

Not sure why this one has been marked as Solved?

@Bethanny are you able to help?

EDIT: posted this as you were posting your reply!

@Col_Needham would love to be able to differentiate between production-side and vendor-side VFX editor roles, as they’re very different positions.
