Hello attican,

The credit you are trying to add was rejected since the credit is not eligible according to our Filmography Credits guidelines. We don't list work from ,on-theatrical versions (e.g. DVD authoring, supplemental materials, captioning, trailer work etc) unless you have a onscreen credit in the movie

Hello Fran.

The credit I am referring to WAS approved. It was not rejected as you mention. Furthermore, identical credits for the same professional were approved without problem. Can you check it again?

Attached is a screenshot with the credit approval message.

That's exactly the same submission that I have checked and it was rejected, which is why the credit is not live. Do you have a screengrab from the onscreen credit for the "trailer music composer"? if so you can re submit your addition with evidence for us to help. More information and help on our Help Articles.

But I just sent you a screenshot with the message APPROVED. Haven't you seen it? Why do you say it has been rejected if I have given proof that it has been approved? Where is the mistake in all this?

The submission can't be approved without the respective evidence, I can make sure that it was not approved, you can disregard the message. If still you want to get the credit added you can re submit the submission with the proper evidence.

There is no onscreen evidence. The clearest evidence I can give is the video of the trailer (where you can hear the music created for it) and the pages of the film's soundtrack where the track from that trailer has been included. Listening to both, it is evident that it is the same track, so it can be concluded that the artist is the composer of the music in the trailer.

Would all this count as evidence of authorship that the music present in the trailer has been created by this composer?

Hi @attican -

Just to clarify, there is an existing credit on the title "Mi ángel custodio 3D (2010)" under 'Music Department" for "QuasarSonic - Soundtrack Producer".

However concerning the trailer credit, we only display trailer credits if the credit is on-screen on the original title.  Were you additionally credited on-screen for short film for the role of "music trailer composer"?  If so, we will need to see either a link to the full film where the credit can be verified or a screen grab with a time stamp showing the credit.

Hi Michelle.

I have never seen the composer of a movie trailer credited in the credits of said movie, basically because the trailer and the movie are different audiovisual entities that are made at different times (and, often, by different composers).

In any case, there are tons of artists who have composed the music for trailers that are not credited in the film (and I would dare say not anywhere else). How did they get IMDb to authorize these accreditations? And don't tell me that with an on-screen credit, because I have never seen that. Perhaps with the mediation of a PRO user?

Hi @attican -

To clarify, we don't list trailer credits or title pages on the site.  With that being said, the only exception is if there is a credit on the film title itself for the trailer.  So for example, for the movie "Barbie" we do not have a title page for the film's trailer or any credits for the trailer, if the composer for that film trailer was credited on-screen on the actual film "Barbie" for "Trailer music", this would be an instance that we would allow the credit listing, but if there is no credit on the original film release itself, then we would not allow the credit.

I hope this helps clarify, let us know if you have further questions.
