Creating an IMDb movie title.

I'm creating a movie called Broman for IMDb and it's been telling me that it's rejected because there's a lack of supporting evidence when i've provided everything in the page including links, credits, distributor, etc. It got rejected four times and i'm getting upset because i never had these issues before in the past.

Hi @anthony_caban_554svkg3cby01 -

Follow our help guides for evidence we need. If you feel you provided what is mentioned there and would like us to double check you can give us your 18-digit submission reference and we will be happy to.

Cheers!

Hi @anthony_caban_554svkg3cby01 -

I reviewed your latest new title submission for "Broman" and can confirm that the title was declined because we were unable to verify that the title was in active development/production based on the evidence provided.

For further details about the requirements and eligibility to list an in-development title I encourage you to review our Help Guide.  Once you have stronger evidence to help support the eligibility, you can then resubmit and our editors will take another look.

I hope this helps!

I’ve provided all of the evidence. I have a GoFundMe link and a Instagram page. Is that not enough? What exactly do you need? A poster of the movie? It’s a legit film. I just don’t have a poster because we haven’t started doing marketing yet. Now please approve it.

Hello anthony_caban_554svkg3cby01,

The submission does not have evidence strong enough to approve it. As we mention in our Guidelines: We list completed and released titles, to have a Title in-development listed you are going to need to provide strong evidence (news articles from known sources, contact info for the production, announcements in the media/trades, interviews with key cast/crew members confirming the status of the project, casting notices, evidence of development deals, etc.).

You can re submit the title when more evidence is available for us to verify the new addition. You can take a look at our Guidelines for more help.

There’s literally a GoFundMe page with all of the details, a Facebook casting call, and we are in early stage of production. What more evidence do you want? I am the director, writer, and actor of this project. There’s posts from my actors sharing the film, we have photos of my costume, and a logo and lastly, we start production on June 27th.

I have given you all of the evidence I have. There as enough as you’ll get for now. This is unacceptable.

When there is more and valid evidence for the new Title addition, you can re submit the title using the online Update Form, as for right now with the provided evidence the submission will end up rejected.

Also as a note, projects in development can be submitted via IMDbPro (membership required).

That’s all the freaking evidence I have. Why do you have to make it more difficult for me?

An instagram page for the film, GoFundMe link, proof of pre-production date, is valid. What exactly do you need spefically? Photos of the movie? A news interview? We’re not making a Hollywood movie. This is a local movie!!!!!!!!!!!

We do no consider “Official” social media pages as valid nor "Crowdfunding sites" as we mention in out Adding a New Title Help guide. Valid evidence could be Production stills, Trailer / behind the scenes video, Third-party news articles, I encourage you to take a look at our Articles.

@Anthony: I don't work for IMDb, so I am just describing how things are in terms of submitting your film. This is not an endorsement to say that your film Broman should or shouldn't be included in the database yet.

From IMDb's perspective, they see your film as one that is not backed by a major production company or distributor, and which is still raising money on GoFundMe. The film is not even scheduled to start production for two more months. From IMDb's perspective, it is still possible that this movie might not even start filming, much less be completed, so they are not sure it ought to be listed in the database yet.

So you may need to get your film completed in order to have it listed in IMDb.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

I respect your point of view and I appreciate you giving your feedback. However, I am not willing to wait until filming is done to have it listed on IMDb. That’s silly. I’m losing donations by doing this.

I've submitted it for the sixth time and got rejected. The actors in this film have already demanded to get their IMDb credits including the film to be approved. Whoever is in charge of approving pages. Can't ya'll just approve it?

@anthony_caban_554svkg3cby01 Please provide the evidence Fran told you is valid, else the title will not be accepted.

I have already given all of you the evidence. How many times do I have to repeat myself?
