Cosmos: Possible Worlds has had all episodes merged to Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey but the series page still exists

Can we get the series pages merged? I attempted it but it was unsuccessful so now we just have a blank series page.

My submission was: 201204-181818-732000

Hi Adrian -

Our editors reviewed this listing and as per National Geographic's website which references these titles as being a separate docu-series, the decision was made to retain the as a separate listing.

This is why your merge request was not approved.

Cheers!

Hey Adrian - apologies for the confusion I've filed a ticket with the team responsible for this and they will look into it at the earliest convenience.

It looks like a decision was made some time ago that these are separate shows that I was not aware of when I spoke about this on the other thread.

This is one of the things that makes contributing to IMDb very frustrating. Based on previous conversations of what is and isn't a continuation of a series, this seems firmly in the "is a continuation". In fact, National Geographic considers all of Cosmos a single series (they list episodes of Possible Worlds as Season 3). It seems IMDb should follow that and merge all of the series into seasons of Carl Sagan's Cosmos.

It seems that season 1 should be Cosmos, season 2 should be Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, and season 3 should be Cosmos: Possible Worlds.

Can we know what criterion was used to make the decision that this is a separate series?

Since each series was each released in a separate decade and under a different subtitle (the first being "A Personal Voyage"), I strongly believe that these should be kept separate. TV series with multiple seasons are usually those that were initially released in subsequent years, and only occasionally ones with later revivals (e.g. Arrested Development, Star Wars: The Clone Wars, etc.).

The episodes appear to have been moved back to the Possible Worlds page.
