In Progress

Correction accepted but never applied -- 220309-213314-659000

This is a minor punctuation correction to a quote. When I submit it, it gets almost instantly denied with a message stating "The item you have submitted is exactly the same as a submission that you have already entered, which is still pending review by our staff."  I can't find any correction still pending for this. What I can find is an older ticket for the same correction: 200923-104210-062000 -- this shows that the correction was accepted, but somehow the change never actually got propagated to the quote itself: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0742626/quotes/qt5337531

Hi Rtorchia - I can see that the Quote update you submitted to the episode was approved and the changes should now be live on the title page quote. Cheers!

@Michelle I still see the version without the change. The only change is the last line, from "Really?" to "Really?!"

Hi @Rtorchia - I can see that our system, while allowing both punctuation's  ("?!") within the contribution form, it will not allow the publishing of both on the site and will automatically drop the second punctuation listing. I have filed a ticket for the appropriate team to investigate this occurrence and confirm if this behavior is expected or if this is due to a bug.  As soon as I have an update I will relay the information here. Cheers!

Hi Michelle, now that you mentioned it, I found the spot in the style guide that says they're not allowed. It still might be worth keeping the report open to 1) have the system give a warning that this isn't allowed, and/or 2) do something so that there isn't this situation again where it looks to the reviewer like it's an identical submission. Thanks! --Ryan.

Hi @Rtorchia - Yes, I can confirm that the Quotes Help Guide does state: Please do not use multiple exclamation marks or a combination of exclamation and question marks (?!). I will retain the open ticket to address the current issue of allowing the combination to be submitted and have requested that a Warning be addressed within the submission form. Cheers!
