Correcting cast credits
I have recently submitted the correct cast list (including character names and their position in the credits list) for Ambulancen (2005) but my corrections, all 27 of them, have been rejected as unverified, even though I supplied a link to the Netflix site where I saw the film and noted the correct listing. This baffles me, as I don't know how IMDb can justify this, as I literally have provided a source for both the film and the credits I'm correcting. Can someone explain to me how this crazy system works, because it makes no sense to me. It seems some corrections are approved automatically, without the need for links to provide evidence, while others seem to be rejected out of hand. What actual effort is being made to verify the information we contributors provide? I hope someone can tell me because looking on IMDb, they don't seem to want to tell anyone.

They prefer screen caps of credits, as stated here:
If you're just posting a link to the Netflix site, you're relying on them to have access to Netflix and play the film and find the relevant credits.
It is true that some data is accepted without evidence, but this should not be the general expectation.

Thanks, Peter, but I'm still looking for the answer to my question, how do they verify things in the first place? They must source the information from somewhere initially, and if they do, why is so much of it wrong? They're relying on contributors like us to correct things and then make it more difficult than it needs to be. I don't want to feel that sometimes - and randomly, from my experience so far - that my time and effort is going to be rejected.

Hi nigel2001 -
In addition to using as many sources as we can, our data goes through consistency checks to ensure it's accurate. Unfortunately, due to the volume and the nature of the information we process, occasional errors in our processing of data can occur.
Concerning the recent cast credit rejections you experienced, if you post the most recent 18-digit submission reference number here I can take a look for you.
Cheers!
