correcting a film festival name

For many years now the "T-Mobile New Horizons International Film Festival, Poland" has lost its sponsor T-Mobile and changed its name back to

"New Horizons International Film Festival, Poland" (https://www.nowehoryzonty.pl/index.do?lang=en)

I do not see an option to edit this. Can you help?

Best,

Robert

Hi rosto-

Thank you for reporting and bringing it to our attention that this festival has change its name. After checking the event page and the link provided, I can confirm that I have now corrected the name.

The changes are already live on the site for the New Horizons International Film Festival, Poland.

I have also added the official URL as it did not have it on its IMDb page.

Cheers!

@Maya

Dear Maya, there's a similar problem with this festival:

where "Faro" should be written as "Fårö"

The festival is held on a small Swedish island named "Fårö Island" near Gotland, in tribute to legendary director Ingmar Bergman, who used to live there.

"Faro" refers to a popular Portuguese tourist location in Algarve (with islands nearby), where there are also some local film festivals. I've noticed this has produced a lot of confusion in the past, where people find it difficult to associate the film festival with its proper location.

Could you please rectify this?

Thanks.

@lmlmacedo That event page you linked is for a hoax. Nothing on that page is real, it's all hoax, there is already a thread about it by Peter_pbn and my message there with details requesting the removal of that hoax event page, unfortunately lingering for a year, I even have more details gathered and became fairly certain it's all hoax but I didn't post it yet because Michelle ignores everything anyway. Instead of taking down the hoax page, she's emailing the user who adds all this hoax and waiting for an answer for more than a year to verify it. So much for "ensuring it's as accurate and reliable as possible", emailing the hoax adder and waiting if they will provide anything to verify any of the nonsense they added and keeping all of the hoax on the site for more than a year in the meantime. (and by ignoring it, not taking an action and lingering its report for months and more than a year, she contributes to this hoax being spread from IMDb to many places as a misinformation because people trust IMDb and use this info in many places including Wikipedia, other databases and articles and such when writing about any of the popular titles or names this event page has because the user responsible for this hoax page is attaching every popular and high profile name and title to this hoax page and because of so many high profile and popular titles and names this is being spread from IMDb to many other places on the internet. IMDb is becoming a source of misinformation with a hoax page of a non-existing, fictitious, imaginary, fake event and tons of popular titles and names in it and Michelle still does not delete this hoax page, everything you see on that page is the product of the imagination of the user who deceived IMDb to add this fake event page and still continues to maintain that hoax page and IMDb keeps allowing him to do that, even after more than a year it was reported, Michelle is still waiting an answer from a vandal to see if they will be able to prove any of these nonsense)

I think the real event you're talking about is this, called "Bergman Week" (https://www.bergmancenter.se/bergmanveckan/) and it doesn't have an event page on IMDb yet.

Hi @lmlmacedo -

Concerning the event you were requesting an update for, as @mbmb mentioned above there have been reports of ineligibility as we have had difficulty verifying the existence of the event itself and have removed the data from the site.

If you have credible supporting evidence to confirm that the event does exist and meets our eligibility criteria, post the details here and our staff will investigate further.

@Michelle Just to clarify, the user was talking about this real event (he thought the hoax event page you had was for this): https://www.bergmancenter.se/bergmanveckan/

But its name is "Bergman Week" and it's a real Swedish event which is not related with this fictitious "Chinese" event from a non-existent island in China that you rightly removed now. This Swedish event could actually be eligible but it's not listed on site yet and if it's eligible it should get a new page.

(just posting this so you don't restore that hoax Chinese event page, the Swedish event does not have any event page on IMDb yet)
