Contribution quesion - TRIVIA versus CONNECTION when a prop reappears?

Not sure how to categorize this - If a prop from Movie A shows up in Movie B (from the same studio/production team/series), would that be a TRIVIA or CONNECTION? The actual example is there is a prop from the Amicus movie Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965) that appears in the subsequent Amicus film Torture Garden (1967). The prop in question is a stylized voodoo mask (not a standard prop like a phone, part of set, etc.) In my mind this seems to be trivia as the characters do not talk about it, it just appears in the basement of one of the characters. Thanks

Hi cinefyl, In my opinion, if the same prop is used in different movies to represent one and the same object which is a part of the narrative, then we can say that a movie is referenced in another one. Otherwise, the prop is just the same prop in various films. We should not interlink dozens of movies just because of different characters wearing the same costumes. And the case you mention is a good example of my theory. The voodoo mask is a distinctive part of the cult in Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965), but in Torture Garden (1967) the same mask is just one of many things on the walls of "The Man Who Collected Poe" Moreover, there is no Edgar Allan Poe in the first movie, and no story about a cult in the second one. No relation at all, just a requisite.

Thanks for the thoughts. So to me then it seems appropriate to maybe list as interesting trivia - or maybe not at all? It’s definitely a sort of early “in universe” callback but not sure if it merits inclusion…

Since IMDb let any trivia to be voted by likes and dislikes, you'll know all the merits after inclusion ;)
