Cleaning to make after the merger of 2 IMDb pages

Hi,

I melted two IMDb pages for the documentary « Shattered dreams of peace: the road from Oslo »: https://contribute.imdb.com/updates/update?load=210822-130204-930000

Further to this merger, there are some corrections to make:

1- Duplicated photos:

The 2 pages had exactly the same 9 photos, so now the documentary has 18 photos, all of them duplicated. Here is the list of photos to remove:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm1459270145

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm2130358785

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm1878700545

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm1660596737

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm419082753

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm2967777793

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm1860612609

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm3521491457

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987/mediaviewer/rm3974410753

2- Occupation to change in the cast:

After check of the detailed casting (https://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/oslo/etc/credits.html), I noticed that 1 person, Todd Goldstein, has a too vague occupation on IMDb: he is registered as « intern », whereas his specific occupation was « production assistant ».

I made a contribution to correct it, but it was refused with « Unable to verify » reason: https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/210822-095924-251000

Can you please handle it?

3- Duplicated running times to remove:

I noticed that 2 running times displayed on IMDb (out of 4) are useless/duplicated.

First, the default running time of the episode broadcasted on « Frontline » is 2 hours, whatever the country is (the field country being empty on IMDb): https://www.paleycenter.org/collection/item/?q=er&p=4&item=T:76607 and https://www.c-films.com/shattered-dreams-of-peace-en

So, there is no need to display this 2 hours standard duration for a specific country (here, Brazil).

Moreover, the running time of the DVD released in France is 150 mns: https://www.amazon.fr/Rêve-brisé-Charles-Enderlin/dp/B0000A1NCG and https://www.fnac.com/a1440941/Le-Reve-brise-DVD-Zone-2

I made some research and that’s the only time I saw this different duration. So, I do not see why there is this unknown « 2 parts » specific duration, without country of affiliation. Can you please remove it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi mompart -

Regarding the clean-up issues:

1) The duplicate images have now been removed from the title photo gallery.

2) The credit you reported for Todd Goldstein has now been updated to "production assistant".

3) The irrelevant running times have now been removed, these changes should be live on the site shortly.

Cheers!

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the information. I am not an English native, so unfortunately I can make some mistakes. I will remember it:-)

Hi Daniel,

Even if it has nothing to do with my initial request, here are some comments about what you said:

* I found information about the 2018 short film (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7984616), so this one should be kept: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Hearts

(look at « adaptations » section), https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Amer

(look at « Filmography » section), http://www.severnfilmproductions.com/article02.html

* I do not find anything about the 2011 short (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2020060). The director is unknown, as well as the production company. And the main actor (Nicholas Amer) has not this film in his filmography.

—> As a consequence, I will not ask for a merger, but for a deletion of the 2011 page. Otherwise, you will have wrong information in the target page (2 director names, an incorrect production company coming from the 2011 short, etc). Ask also for the deletion of the director and production company of the 2011 one. You could also create a post for all these actions and IMDb will do it safely for you. But a merger does not seem the proper solution to me in that case (only when the 2 pages are the same, with the same names, etc). Here, there is a good page and a wrong page.

Ok, you are better informed than me:-). So, the target page is the 2018 one. But you will have to remove the director’s name and I do not find any information about the 2011 production company (removal also?). Do the best anyway:-)

On Wikipedia page, it is the 2018 page only that is mentioned, so I do not agree with you: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lost_Hearts

(look at « adaptations ») and https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicholas_Amer

(look at « filmography »). Maybe, something went out in 2011, but everyone talks about the 2018 version, so removing it from IMDb to keep a 2011 version is maybe not the right choice

Ask maybe IMDb team what they would do in that case. I think that usually it is the page of first release that has to be kept, but here people talk about the final version released in 2018. So, I do not know what to think

Anyway, good luck:-). It is not an easy item and I understand that you want to find the best solution.

Ok, I see. It’s a pity people go on Wikipedia to edit approximate things. Your dedication is a blessing, but few people seem to be like you. I noticed also bad behaviors of people on IMDb, not for the credits, but for the ratings & reviews: they create multiple accounts to change the rating and/or edit the same reviews (with slight changes) and then massively vote for these reviews with their fake accounts. These kind of behaviors sometimes demotivate me. If everyone could be as serious as you are, things will be different. Good luck and thanks for your dedication to help other people

For IMBd team: even if I talked with another user about other topics on this post, please go back to my initial request (at the beginning of the post) in order to handle it. The post is indeed about this IMDb page: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0342987

Thanks for your understanding
