Clean Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond movie galleries

Ok, that’s a thing that have been bothering me for a while, these Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond movie galleries are a mess. It’s been like this for a few years since someone uploaded several screenshots taken sequentially from the same scene and post it as it was movie posters. The result is several irrelevant images practically looking the same, polluting everything. I don’t know how this was allowed by the IMDb administration, because it goes totally againts the rules as they are a “unnecessary quantities of very similar still images from the same scene” as it’s exemplified here (https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/images-videos/image-guidelines/G27LPBQZA7EAZGJW?ref_=helpsrall#images).

Anyway, if some editor could take some time to do the cleaning on all this I would appreciate, considering that would take several days (weeks maybe) to report everything.

Hi jackry -

Thanks for your report.  I have filed a ticket for the appropriate team to handle the image removal and gallery clean-ups.

Cheers!

I cant's see any "image removal and gallery clean-ups"

All those movies are still cluttered-up with thousands of low-quality still frames randomly screen-captured from beginning to end of the movie.

All of them must be deleted on the grounds they contravene 2 basic rules:

low-quality and too many similar images from scene after scene, that are clearly established in the guidelines:

https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/images-videos/image-guidelines/G27LPBQZA7EAZGJW#

We do not allow scans or copies with the following:

  • Noticeable pixelation or noise
  • Unnecessary quantities of very similar still images from the same scene

Hi

I’m resurrecting this topic because today I notice that the GoldenEye gallery had all the photos erased but the screenshots that were posted as movie posters still remains (those who actually should be erased). The original theatrical poster was also deleted.

I think it’s better some editor take a look on what happened here before it could happen with the other titles.

Maybe there’s still time to revert the loss.

I saw now that mostly part of the screenshots have been removed, and suggested a new poster.

Hi jackry-

My sincere apologies for the delayed reply and an updated information on this issue. We are working through a backlog of threads.

I can confirm that the necessary clean up of the duplicated images on these 4 James Bond films has been done. The poster was also updated and the changes are already live on the site.

Thank you again for reporting!

Cheers!

Hi @Maya

Thanks for the feedback.

I believe that you are referring to the GoldenEye poster.

What left to be done is now correct the poster for The World is not Enough, once the previous theatrical poster was also deleted (as long the rest of advertising material). The new poster is already in the gallery and I only need this submission approval.

@jackry Hi-

Your welcome!

I can see that the poster has been corrected as well for The World is not Enough (1999).

Cheers!
