Cinemacon screening as a release date

Last year when Top Gun: Maverick was released early at Cinemacon, I remember trying to add the screening as a release date on IMDB but it didn't come through, and the first release date there is still the (later) screening at Cannes. I figured there's probably a reason for that, maybe Cinemacon doesn't count as a release date for some reason. But now The Flash has been shown there this year and it does have a release date for Cinemacon. So is one of these two 'wrong'? Does Cinemacon count as a release date or not?
