Change of character name caused delete of verified credit

I wanted to update an existing verified credit with the specific role title since the move is now being released and my credit was tossed. When I inquired, I was sent the generic verification process yet again. Can I get some assistance with this?

Hi @mhearn -

Can we have your 18-digit submission reference to check on this for you?

Thanks!

Hi @mhearn -

I can see that our editors were unable to independently verify the credit and will need further evidence.  I encourage you to resubmit the credit, this time with evidence to verify your participation and our editors will take another look.

I hope this helps!

I supplied evidence back then of a call sheet and the credit was accepted. All I did was change actor to my role listed on the call sheet. Why is that hard to see?

Hi @mhearn -

Unfortunately, I didn't see any evidence provided for the "Beau Is Afraid (2023)" credit addition, which means our editors also did not see evidence.  The call-sheet will be verifiable, you are welcome to either post it here or resubmit the credit with the evidence and we will take another look for you.

Hi @mhearn -

Thanks for posting the evidence.  The cast credit has been approved and should be live on the site shortly.

Cheers!

@Michelle The film has cast complete marker, this credit is added without an order number which may mean it would be an uncredited role, but it's not added with uncredited attribute, and the evidence posted here is not an onscreen credit screenshot.

Hi @mbmb -

Thanks for catching.  @mhearn - I have now added the "uncredited" attribute, if you find that your name is credited on-screen for the theatrical release, let us know and we can correct it.

Cheers!

This is not extra work. This is a principle role with contract in a pretty big film. My part is not huge but I’ve been mentioned in at least 3 reviews. It’s an important distinction and kind of annoying that I have to take a photo of the credits just to have my “resume “ read correctly. Feel free to contact casting or production and they will confirm

@mhearn The problem is cast list was marked as complete, IMDb says "We require strong evidence to verify submissions - such as a link showing the full on-screen credits." and "it's not added lightly" for adding that mark: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/complete-cast-crew/GMZECKUS8JG34C4J

Usually adding a credit to a complete cast list requires onscreen credit evidence, because it was supposedly verified as complete from onscreen credits already.

Actually having been an actor for many years and using IMDb prior to Amazon’s involvement, I can say that I use it as a resume to attract people and help secure future jobs. I add my own credits especially if it’s a big project because it does help.  Extras don’t get principal contracts. My role has been cut completely before and I still was hired as a principal actor through an extensive audition process.  Just saying that perhaps there should be a secondary means of verification.  Are you contacting casting?  The casting director does not hire extras. That is a separate business. They would verify if someone took the time to reach out. It’s hard enough booking these jobs without constantly having to prove you did.

And for the record,  the cast list was marked as complete when I was on there.  All I did was withhold my character name until production was ready to promote the project.  When I went to change it, you dumped the credit.  Perhaps production also noticed I was already listed and therefore marked it as completed

Hi @mhearn -

The cast was marked Complete by IMDb staff so we will need further evidence before the attribute can be removed.  Are you able to attend a screening and take a screen capture of your name in the on-screen credits?
