Guy: For clarity, only the main editor gets listed in the Editor section. All of their assistant editors get listed in the Editorial Department section. See https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/editors/GQPMLMBW9GMC67QR# and https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/editorial-department/GLJ5P8UXRPWZQPVL# for details about these sections.

For the credits that you want to be moved, please let us know:

  • What film/TV show it was
  • What your job title was
  • Whether there was any higher-ranking editor you were working under (because if so, the credit should presumably stay in the Editorial Department)

And also, please let us know your name. With this information, the contributors here will be better able to advise you.

Hi @gromit82

Sorry I thought you could trace me via my username, so this is me:

And these are the shows that I’m credited as an editor in the editorial dept when it should be under the editor section.

Please let me know if you need anymore information from me !

Thanks.

Hi @editgodla -

Concerning the majority of the credits you referenced, these since the role is "Offline-editor" these are listed correctly under the Editorial category as per our guidelines:

The editors section is for the main picture editor(s) only. Usually only one person holds this role. Other editing roles (such as additional editors, assistant editors, on-line editors or supervising editors) should be submitted to the editorial department section.

So these credits should not be moved to the "Editor" section.

Hi @editgodla -

There is no option to seamlessly move credits from one category to another.  To accomplish this, you will need to request a deletion of the incorrectly placed credits and then resubmit those credits to the correct category.

Hi @editgodla -

IMDb staff can assist if there are high volumes of data, however, if there are only a handful of credits that need to be moved it's best to do so through the Contribution form.

Cheers!
