Cast submission - gender when selecting person known for 'self'

When submitting cast members I noticed that when one selects from the popup a name that is "known for" being an actress the gender auto-switches from male to female, which is great. For example, I type in the name Morgan Fairchild, I select the offered up Actress option, and the gender on the submission form changes to female.

However if the cast member is "known for" something else, e.g. director or appearances as self, the submission form does not update to female even if the person's gender is set to female on the IMDb.

For example - if I type in Dianne Feinstein (known for Self), and select her from the popup the gender on the form remains as male. Or if I type in Catherine Hardwicke (known for Director) the form keeps the male radio button checked.

The request: Any chance the system can be changed to trigger off the stored gender for the name instead of the "known for" role type when selecting from the popup suggestion?

It would save a lot of manual clicks if that could happen.

Sienel: I have given you a vote in favor of this idea. This problem has been known for some time but has never been fixed. See the discussion at https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/contribution-name-suggestion-search. As I explained it there:

Specifically, the problem is that when adding a person to the Cast of a title ...
  • The radio button will default to "actor" if the person is male.
  • The radio button will default to "actress" if the person is female and has her primary occupation as Actress.
  • But if the person is female and her primary occupation is anything other than actress, the radio button will default to "actor" for her, even if her gender is already correctly entered in the database as female and even if she already also has credits as an actress.
