Cast order - Form improvements

When editing the cast members, a contributor has the option to order them by numbers or to leave the field blank. No matter how, but the field may be left blank unintentionally for one upto all credit(s). To enhance the overall quality of such activity, I'd like to suggest for the IMDb-developers' consideration:
  1. Before completing the form, contributors need a reminder when the new credits are not ordered;
  2. Contributors need the option for more than one credits to be numbered automatically, preserving the order of their input, in two further situations:
    a) when it is the first cast-addition for the title (film);
    b) when all in-base credits are numbered before the current contribution start.

I hadn't seen your suggestion when I posted something simliar just now https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/suggested-enhancement-to-form-validation-list-of-cast-in-cre...

I think the list needs to include both existing credits (which may have been corrected) and new ones. A common situation is that a title has an incomplete list of cast in the wrong order, so you need to order the existing ones and insert any missing ones in the right place, to give a consecutive, combined numbering sequence.

The ability to press a button "Validate credit order" and see a combined sorted list (and maybe even a report "4 is missing, 7 is duplicated") would be a useful final check before pressing the Submit button.

Such a list could be also be compared with the on-screen credits to make sure you haven't omitted someone altogether from the list when transcribing the missing cast.
