I'd have thought so (I'm sure there are films with a massive cast on IMDB), but it might be you need to do it in batches.
Have you run into something that says you can't add more than 90 cast members? If so, can you supply a link or a screenshot if it turns up when you are adding data.
I am working on a New Title Submission Form for a film not yet in IMDb. There are more than 90 cast members listed in the film credits. The drop down box for adding cast members on the form has several number options. The highest one is 90 credits. (I will try to add a jpg screen shot file of what I am seeing. Never done this before.)
Maybe what I need to do is send in the New Title Submission Form with just the main cast member names, and when the film is accepted, I can add the extra names later. How does that sound?
Thanks for that, it is what I suspected. The problem is, if you have too many fields the form could time out submitting data which would be a bit of a disaster.
So I'd go with my previous recommendation - add them in batches. I tend to submit new titles using the basic set of requirements (especially in the crew), just in case it gets rejected (it hasn't happened yet*) and it is simpler to add the complete credits after it has been accepted.
So it depends on how many cast members you have to add - if it is 100 then add one lot with the new title (perhaps the top 30 odd) and then you can add the rest once the title has been greenlit.
One tip: Leave it a couple of weeks after the submission has been accepted, as it allows the processes to build the pages and add all the relevant credits, so you can check to make sure all the links point to the right people (worth doing in case the system has had a hiccup), as you can correct that too, if needed.
* The key is meeting the inclusion criteria, so add links to respectable sources to demonstrate that there is public interest in the title.
What you suggest should work. Once you submit the credits for consideration, it will help the IMDb Editorial Staff if you provide them with a screen copy of the credits (or other form of proof) and link to this with the form:
http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/data_verification
If you do not have a website for your production, you can save the screen capture or similar evidence on a file sharing site such as Tumbler.
Since the number of cast members is over 90, you will have multiple submission IDs. Submit the form for each submission ID. You may wish to indicate in the comments of the form that the credited cast for your production is over 90 people and that you had do make multiple submissions.
Please take into consideration that there is a human editor that will review what you have submitted is accurate and can be verified. The clearer you are in submitting the information, the more likely your submission will be excepted.
If you have any other questions regarding submitting the credits, please post them here, so we can help minimize the effort on your part and on the part of the IMDb Editorial Staff.
If a title is already in the database, it is possible to submit more than the limit of 90 cast credits at a time, or more than whatever the numerical limit is in other departments. This is explained at http://www.imdb.com/updates/guide/con... under "Names: How to add more than the default number of data for all lists".
However, as far as I know, that only works once the title is already in the database.
Thank you for the responses. I submitted a new title submission form today with partial credits. Also I submitted a data verification form that included a link to a file sharing spot where I saved screen capture files of the credits for the film title I am requesting to be added to IMDb.
