Cartoon Characters and Puppets Versus Actors and Actresses

Sorry to disappoint many (and, on occasion, even myself), BUT animated characters and puppets ARE NOT real people, and SHOULD NOT have 'Name' pages, but SHOULD BE listed as Character performed by actors or actresses.

Donald Duck, Charlie McCarthy, Mortimer Snerd, Kukla, Ollie, etc., should not have 'Name' pages, but should be listed as characters performed by others.  They could then have the
"-character" keyword.

Granted, some cartoon character and even puppets have more human qualities and expressions than some actors and actresses, but that still should not qualify them for 'Name' pages.

Jeff Dunham (II)

An award-winning ventriloquist
Two of his characters are apparent homages to characters
performed by previous famous ventriloquists.
Bubba J" strongly resembles Mortimer Snerd, performed by Edgar Bergen.
"Jose the Jalapeno on a Stick," who has a face but no body,
is similar to the disembodied head in a box performed by Señor Wences.

Unfortunately, our statistics currently don't distinguish a person from a non-person,
as we group all name pages on the site together in this reporting.
Although I'm not sure when this suggestion will be addressed,
I have filed a ticket for the appropriate team
to review concerning name page identifiers for person vs. non-person
and to request that our statistics reporting reflect the differentiation.

Animal actors and actresses justifiably have 'Name' pages.  It's the cartoon characters and puppets that should't.  Recently tried to delete Donald Duck as a 'Name,' but it has not been accepted, even though Clarence Nash (Donald-s voice) is listed in the cast with Donald Duck as the character name.

It seems that names that are objects should just be keywords.

And cartoon and puppet characters should be keywords with the"-character" addendum," also.

Bachelor Mother (1939): The crazy credits page says that Donald Duck was credited as himself, and that the credit refers to a toy. Inanimate objects, if credited, are specifically allowed by IMDb guidelines.

I see that the BFI also lists the credit:
