Can't update an entry as IMDB says the film is not registered in the database, even though it is.

In 1997 I briefly worked as assistant editor on the film August, directed and staring Anthony Hopkins [August (1996) - IMDb]; However, despite being listed in IMDB, when I attempt to update my profile to add information about my brief work on this film, the film itself does not come up in the list to select, hence the update is being rejected. I have saved my entry hoping I can return back to it later to resolve this issue, but does anyone know why this is happening and how I can resolve it?

Thanks in advance

Chris: As there are many films with titles including the word "August", the simplest way to resolve the problem would be to start from the title page for the film (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115591/), rather than the name page for yourself, and submit your credit to the film's page.

That said, either there must be an error in the information you have above or your credit would be ineligible for listing:

In 1997 I briefly worked as assistant editor on the film August, directed and staring Anthony Hopkins [August (1996) - IMDb] ...

In 1997, it was too late for you to have worked on the film's original release (the first listed release date is Feb. 16, 1996). It seems more likely that you worked as an assistant editor on the film in 1995 or very early in 1996 -- or, if not, your credit would be ineligible because you would have worked on a post-release version of the film.

Yeah, typo on my part I'm afraid. It must have been earlier, but I definitely worked on it as I have fond memories of meeting and making tea for Sir Anthony when he came into the edit suite, and also listening to the late Leslie Philips regale us with stories from his past as we sat in the bar of the hotel we were staying in, not to mention accidentally upsetting Anthony's then wife, because his driver blocked my car in at one of the locations (the church down by the coast) and I had to knock on his trailer door to ask the driver to move it...... I'll try your suggestion of going via the film's IMDB entry to see if they will allow me to update it that way. Thanks for the advice
