Cancelled series - can this not be clearly shown on the page for the series?

I hate to start watching a series, and then find out 2 seasons in that it was cancelled, even after doing the research on IMDB if the show was worth it.

Can it not be added onto the home page of each TV series? Call it a "Show Status" perhaps.

I am sure the question has been asked before, thoughg a search didn't yield any fruit.

At the top of a series page, the year range shows you whether or not a series is still running. Example: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0053502/combined shows that The Flintstones ran from 1960 to 1966.
Truth be told, there are quite some series which currently don't have the correct year range. To ask staffers to fix it for a certain series, you can use the Help Desk: http://www.imdb.com/helpdesk/contact_form?subject=Title%20End%20Year%20%Correction.

Ah that makes a lot of sense thanks @Marco!

Personally I still want to see what was the cause of the end of the series. In other words "cancelled / cancelled but has a finale / ended with finale"

Hello everyone!

I want to ask the same. The interval of years shows if a tv serie is not ended (as example, Game of thrones: "TV Series (2011– )"). It hasn't ending year, so it is not ended yet.

But when it has got, can we know, any way, if the tv serie was ended because it is the tv serie's end (as Breaking bad), if it was canceled without an end (as Revolution), if it was canceled and the end was rewrote, etc?

Is there any place on the home place of the tv serie where we can see that "status"?

Thanks!!
