Can an admin check this date of death

Pauline Stroud nm0835170 is listed in IMDB as having died in December 2020. She was born in 1930. An obituary has jsut been published in The Guardian https://www.theguardian.com/stage/2022/sep/04/pauline-stroud-obituary which gives her age at death as being 92, so her death would have been some time after March 2022.

Either IMDB's date of death or else the obituary's age at death would seem to be wrong. But which?

Is it a pure coincidence that a different Pauline Stroud died on the Isle of Wight in December 2020 https://www.countypress.co.uk/memorials/death-notices/death/18937370.pauline-stroud/

I'll add her cause of death (cancer) with the original date, but that date may need to be changed...

Obit says "she was hospitalised in January", so 2020 death date is clearly wrong, that info clearly comes from someone else with the same name as you showed with that death notice link.

Death date should be changed to just "2022" (without a month or day) as that's the only date that can be derived from the obit.

It also mentions they spoke on the phone for 2 years after "Covid-19 and lockdowns" until she was hospitalised in January. Covid-19 = 2020, +2 years would make it 2022. Plus I'm sure theguardian would mention or note it if it was not 2022.

I couldn't see many sources for 2020, when something is on IMDb, it could spread to many places quickly.

Can an admin also please remove "September" from the death information. All we know is she died in 2022. The month isn't stated.

I really wish IMDb admins would stop adding months, dates etc. without valid sources. It's how misinformation is bred on the internet.

@Michelle Excellent. It's a good idea to downgrade the date to just "2022" rather than the date when the obituary was published which may well have been a time after Pauline's death.

The obituary mentions her age at death as being 92. Since she was born in March 1930, that implies that she died no earlier than March 2022, but beyond that, we cannot be any more precise.

@Michelle I see her page has once again been updated to include a September 4th date. Please be aware that this is complete nonsense. I assume it has come from FindAGrave or The Express (a trashy tabloid newspaper which isn't even considered a reliable source by Wikipedia standards). It's likely she died some months ago, and it's important her page says 2022 only until a full date of death is confirmed.

@jksutherland I agree, sometimes it's so easy for some people to change these kind of data incorrectly. "Pauline Stroud, actress, was born on March 21, 1930. She died of cancer on August 11, 2022, aged 92"
