Bad Format - Actor adds

Contribution #230107-034626-917000

I already have 5 Actors who's characters are listed as "Actor"
The project is listed as an alias and therefore characters are listed as "Actor"
I tried to list 4 more actors using the same mode as the other actors that are already approved and listed.

Why have the 4 additional listings been denied when the criteria for the5 other actors have already been approved and using the same method???

Hi @dancingelklucas -

Character names can not be "Actor" "Actress" "Lead" or so on, it has to be an actual character name or a description of the role for uncredited characters. This is the reason they were not accepted as they are badly formatted.

Cheers!

@Bethanny The rule is not consistent. I seen multitudes of titles where actors have been listed as Actor. As of right now my project has 5 actors listed as Actor or Actress.

please reconcile that….

Sometimes IMDB has the most draconian and inequitable criteria. So to appease the IMDb gods, I will list denied actors as self. Thank you very much

I’ve already taken care of it. But if you are gonna restrict because of standards. Then apply them evenly across the board.

@dancingelklucas  When you see “Actor” or “Actress” in a cast list on IMDbPro, those are role categories and not actual character names, sorry. In such cases the character names were submitted as empty per IMDb rules when no character name is yet known.  There are no inconsistencies here.  You can see this in the edit interface for your own film:

Hope this helps.

So actually, in leaving blank. Before release of project. IMDB defaults to Actor or Actress?
