Hi @gromit82 -

We have been accepting Audiobook titles under the "Video" type format.  Here are some examples of Audiobook titles currently listed on the site:

Game of Thrones (2003 Video)

Fire & Blood (2018 Video)

A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child (1989 Video)

As I see we do not currently list "Audiobook" formatting on our guides, I have filed a request to add this information.

I hope this helps!

Thank you Michelle!  I am currently in production for an audiobook for my novel due out in July.  I wanted to give my actors credit but didn't know how to go about doing that. This helps a lot!

@Michelle Didn't you already file that request about 2 months ago when I opened a thread about this?

This was your response: I filed a ticket to request that the rules for audiobooks be included on the Title Formatting Help Guide.

What happened to that ticket?

Personally Podcast title type looks more fitting to me for an audio-only title  but I guess not having a non-series podcast title type is an obstacle here.

As an overly fastidious amateur corrector of long-standing errata within the database, I have noticed the entry of many 'dramatized' - as opposed to merely 'read aloud' - audiobooks into the database, noting that they are added as 'TV Series' (which they most DEFINITELY are not.)

While my internal OCD shudders at the thought of spoken word audiobooks being accepted, it seems fitting that 'Audio Dramas' or 'Audio Plays' should finally be given their due.

An example, if one is required, would be https://www.imdb.com/title/tt20860540 , one of dozens of high value continuations of the Doctor Who franchise by many of the original actors, (Doctors included,) but sadly mis-characterised as visual media.

They fully deserve to be within IMDb, but they also deserve to be recognised for exactly what they are. My vote is for 'AUDIO PLAY' to be added as title type.
