Answered

Are there any ways to identify uncredited foreign dubbed voice actors?

Im interetsed in adding credits to the new voice dubbing section but some of the voice actors i simply can not find at all and have looked all over.  Are there any ways to identify uncredited foreign dubbed voice actors?

P.S.: You have to put in the German names of the movies which may be different. But you can look at that issue on IMDb.

When you choose the tab "Kartei", there opens a line for input.

I've put in Julian Sands. His entry appeared and showed 75 entries of movies including his dubbing actor for each specific movies of them.

For Spain, the most comprehensive database is: https://www.eldoblaje.com

Apparently the databases are incomplete. That's a pitty. I tried for about half an hour to get another way to find these voice actors. Sadly the search was in vain, void. I tried to find a solution by chat-gpt here is what it said:

To find the German dub voice actors for The Boys Club (1996), use the following methods:

  1. Check German film databases

    • Search on Synchronkartei — this is the most comprehensive database for German voice actors and dubbing credits.

    • Look up the film on IMDb and switch to the German release page if available.

    • Search Filmportal.de for German distribution details.

  2. Search the German titleThe film may have a different German release title. Search for:

    • “The Boys Club 1996 deutsche Synchronsprecher”

    • “The Boys Club 1996 deutsche Fassung”

  3. Check DVD/Blu-ray credits

  4. If a German home media version exists, the dubbing cast is often listed in:

    • The end credits

    • The DVD/Blu-ray cover

    • Online marketplace listings (which sometimes show back-cover images)

  5. Contact the distributor

  6. If the film had a German distributor, they may provide dubbing information upon request.

  7. Voice actor communities

  8. German dubbing fan forums and communities often archive obscure productions.

If the film never received an official German dub, you may only find subtitles rather than a German voice cast.

There is no entry for the movie on Sychronkartei. Which studio did dub the movie?

There’s limited information available about an official German dub of The Boys Club (1996) — and no confirmed dubbing studio is listed in the major databases. However:

  • A fan-edited German dub page lists the release title as The Boys Club: Der Killer im Versteck and notes that it was released by Ascot Video in Germany — but it does not list the dubbing studio or voice cast.

  • No entries in the main German dubbing database (Synchronkartei) or other standard dubbing archives appear to list a studio or cast for this title, which suggests either:

    • The German dub was created specifically for the German VHS release by Ascot Video without widely published credits, or

    • It may never have received a full German dub (only subtitles, which sometimes happens for smaller films in German-speaking markets).

To find the dubbing studio if it exists, you could try:

  1. Checking German VHS/DVD packaging — sometimes the studio (e.g., Berliner Synchron, FFS Film- & Fernseh-Synchron GmbH) is printed on the back.

  2. Looking at TV broadcast archives — German TV channels sometimes credit the dub studio when they air a dubbed version.

  3. Contacting Ascot Video’s rights holders — they might be able to provide original dubbing credits.

If none of these produce results, it’s likely there’s no widely documented German dub studio for this movie.
