Anybody else still finds the awards links (for old films) confusing
Take this for example:
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063374/awards/?ref_=tt_awd
If you click on Academy Awards, USA or Golden Globes, USA etc. (and it is written in such big letters that it is almost impossible not to click on those by accident), you are taken to the 2024 editions of these shows. This makes no sense. I understand you can click the smaller links below and you get where you wanted to get in the first place, but I feel like imdb still needs to come up with a better solution there. Kinda perfect would be if the big link on top takes you to the awards show from that year and the smaller links take you to the specific categories from said awards show.

Hi @Horst -
If you click on the award specifically like "1969 Nominee Oscar" it will take you to the correct year. If you click on the name of the event it will take you to the most recent one.
Cheers!

Horst: I have a suggestion as to why this may be the way things are.
It is preferable for those links to awards to work the same way for all titles.
For a movie (in your example, The Odd Couple (1969) at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0063374/awards/), naturally all (that is, both) of its Oscar nominations were in the same year.
But a TV series (example: "The Sopranos" (1999) at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0141842/awards/) can receive nominations in the same award event (such as the Emmys) in multiple years. The big "Primetime Emmy Awards" link can only take you to a general Emmys page, not to any one of the particular years in which the show was nominated that you might be thinking of.
It's also preferable for these links to work the same way for people, too. And, of course, a person can receive awards/nominations from the same event in multiple years (see https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000658/awards/). And the big "Academy Awards, USA" on Meryl Streep's awards page will only take you to a general Oscar page and not to a particular one of the 21 Oscar years in which she was nominated.
In fact, although the Academy Awards no longer allow this, there are a few films which received Oscar nominations in more than one year (almost all of them were films nominated for Best Foreign Language Film in one year and another category in a later year). See Amarcord (1973) at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071129/awards/ for an example.

That said, I don't know if this would be the best idea, but instead of having the big "Academy Awards, USA" link go to the current year's awards page, perhaps the link should go to the overview page for the award -- that is, https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0000003/overview/ instead of https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0000003/2024/1.
