Anime Genres need to be imported into IMDb

Just saw a harem anime that was recoded in the app as a romance. Those are two very different genres, meaning IMDb is no longer properly recording anime genres. With the rise in popularity of anime, the anime genres need to be added as selectable genres.

If any title has any missing genres, you may add them as described on https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/genres/GZDRMS6R742JRGAG

On IMDb Anime is classed as an Interest and so that can be added as described on https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/interests/G4Q8HQTQJ6YZ7H7B. For more information on Interests see https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/imdbcom/introducing-interests-on-web/66be8cc8985e8c49f8c97f53 and specifically for Anime -> https://www.imdb.com/interest/in0000027/

Hope this helps.

I just submitted a change to remove the romance tag, but cannot add the harem genre for approval since IMDb has a dropdown list and doesn't let you fill in an "other" option.

As far as interests go, they are keywords that let people find thinga quicker. That's cool and all, but it doesn't change the fact that IMDb is not incorporating correct factual genres and is instead limiting their users to list genres that do not match with the film or anime due to a lack of an "other" box. With how popular anime is, I still think IMDb should make the change, which is something that can only happen on the developers end.

@AntMess97 Please see the articles we posted above — the way you add the Anime interest is via a plot keyword contribution.
