An idea regarding sorting of review ratings

Hi,

In the "reviews" -section of IMDb movie pages there are five filters to sort the reviews with: Featured, Review date, Total votes, Prolific reviewer, and Review rating. I would like to suggest a new filter that sorts the reviews based on vote ratio or "helpfulness", i.e., the ratio between positive user votes and total user votes or something similar (with perhaps some lower limit on the amount of votes before it is shown in this list).

I use IMDb a lot when I decide what movies I should watch, and while not perfect, I find myself by far most often in agreement with reviews that have high ratio of positive votes vs. total votes. Much more often that any other category, if I can manually find them of course. I understand that adding new features takes time, but I imagine such a simple filter would not take that much time and I think many people would like it.

Thanks for reading!

@Ap00  Thanks for the suggestion, however, this is how the default "Featured" algorithm already works.  There's some extra behind-the-scenes protection against undue spam so you cannot always perfectly back-calculate the ranking, but it should mostly be aligned.

In addition you can also change the sort order from "Featured" to "Total Votes" which can often be an interesting look.

Hope this helps.
