In Progress

AI Image Usage

Hello,

I happened to come across someone with an artificially generated primary image. I reported it as "not relevant" but I am wondering if this is the correct reason.

Looking through the contributions guide, there is nothing about ai policy for contributors.

The guide for setting up a pro-profile includes a section about ai-generated images, but allows for filters.

https://help.imdb.com/article/imdbpro/manage-your-imdb-page/manage-your-images/GYJLH267T2DMYJ53

"Does IMDbPro allow professional members to post headshots, videos, etc. that have been generated by AI?

While IMDbPro accepts AI-enhanced personal images of professionals (such as those using photo filters), we do not allow fully AI-generated profile photos or AI-generated representations of individuals. This helps maintain trust among industry customers who use IMDbPro for casting and other professional purposes."

I find this to be inadequate and unclear. How much filtering is allowed before an image is unusable? I would like to request that imdb provide clearer instructions for disallowing ai images, and add information about ai policy to the contributor guidelines.

Thank you!

Hi isanyoneleft,

Thank you for your problem report.

I have passed your feedback on to the relevant teams for review. If any further action is to be taken following this review, I will update this thread.

Cheers!

Thank you very much. I just saw that my contribution (#260106-164850-860502) was declined, as "unable to verify." I'm not sure how I can "verify" that this is an ai generated image- but it clearly is, anyone with eyes can see that. Should I run it through an ai detector and upload the results? Is there a specific ai detector imdb would prefer? Thanks!
