Adding credits in mass to a tv series

I have been a producer and editor on a television show for the last 7 years that ran weekly episodes. 52 weeks a year x 7 years = 364 shows, I also have worked on several other shows during this time. How do I mass add 7 years worth of producer credits to my profile? Thanks in advance for the help!

Bryan: Are the episodes themselves already listed in the database? Or do they still need to be added, too?

The more details you can provide about the situation, the easier it will be to advise you.

Thanks for getting back to me, much appreciated. In short I worked on a show on Spike TV from Oct. 2008 until Dec 2014 that was 52 weeks a year. It switched over to Destination America in January of 2015 and I realized I need to attach my credit history to this show. I either produced, edited, or shot, elements for every one of the shows over the past 7 years. I am sure there has to be a way to mass select that time period and do an, "add all" for the 364+ shows. I appreciate the help!

Bryan: What I'm trying to find out first is whether this show's episodes are already listed in IMDb. Can you please post the show's title, so I can look that up?

Copy that, sorry. The show was Spike TV's (now Destination America) Impact Wrestling. I also worked on two seasons of British Boot Camp for Challenge TV in the UK, and a Bellatore MMA PPV. All of that was Spike TV programming. I've found a couple of random DVDs on IMDB I did for the company as well but I'm not seeing the program itself. The show was Spikes top rated show for 6 of the 7 years I worked on it so I would think it would be on the site.  Again, thanks for your time and attention in helping me get this sorted!

Bryan: The good news is that it looks like you will be able to enter your credits en masse, at least to a significant extent.

The show is listed in IMDb as "TNA Impact! Wrestling" (2004). And if you look at the show's episodes page at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421463/episodes, you will see that many of the episodes are indeed listed already.

Before submitting your credits to IMDb, keep in mind that each group of episodes you submit your credit to should be a group where you were credited under the same job title and under the same name. So, for example, if you were a co-producer on some episodes and an associate producer on other episodes, you will group them separately. And if, say, you sometimes used your middle initial and sometimes you didn't, you will group the episodes with one form of your name separately from episodes with another form of your name.

So here's how to get this done. Go to the series page at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0421463/. Click "Edit page".

On the next screen, let's say, for example, that you are going to start with adding some group of producer credits. On the Producers line, select "Add 1 credit". (In this context, "1 credit" means credits for one person.) Scroll down and click "Continue".

On the next screen, there will be a Name box. Enter your primary IMDb name there, in inverted form (Smith, John instead of John Smith), including the roman numeral after your name if applicable. (I am assuming you are already listed in IMDb for some other credit; if not, then just enter your name, in inverted form.)

Next to that, there will be an Episode(s) box. This is how you will select the episodes that you are submitting in this particular group. At the lower right of the Episode(s) box, there will be a little icon that looks like this: . Click on that.

A pop-up box will appear with boxes at the top for Season, Year, and Title. For this particular series, I recommend clicking on Year. Once you do that, there will be boxes below representing every year from 2004 through 2015. You can click on any year's box, and below that you will see a list of all the episodes IMDb has listed for that year.

As you do so, you may notice that some episodes are missing, others are double-listed, and other problems like that. Hopefully you will be able to make use of the lists anyway.

In each year's list, you can click on any episode to select it, or click on it a second time to de-select it. The identifier for each episode will appear in the Episode(s) box as you select it.  (The Episode(s) box is pretty small, so you will have to scroll in the box if you want to see all the entries listed.)

You can also "select all" to choose all the episodes in a year, or "clear all" to un-select them.

So the idea is that you will go through the lists, select all the episodes in the group (where you had the same job and were credited under the same name). When you are done, click "close" in the pop-up box.

In the Occupation box, select your job title if it appears in the drop-down box, or "Other (use box below) if it doesn't appear. In the latter case, type in your job title in the lower box.

And in the Attribute box, if you were credited under a name different from your primary IMDb name, you would enter an attribute such as (as John D. Smith) to indicate the name under which you were credited for the episodes in that group.

Then click "Check these updates". You may get some kind of warning on the next screen, but I can't effectively speculate as to what that might be. Hopefully you will be able to resolve it, but if not, feel free to come back here and ask. Continue through the process until your data appears with a green background and you are able to click "Submit these updates".

You can then repeat the process for each group of episodes that relates to a different job title and/or version of your name.

For "TNA British Boot Camp", on the other hand, it looks like only two episodes of the entire series are listed in IMDb so far. (See http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3924286/episodes?year=-1&ref_=tt_eps_yr_-1.) To add additional episodes to the series, go to the series page (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3924286/) and click "Add episode". Each episode will have to be added one at a time. For each episode, you will need to provide at least one of the following three pieces of information: (a) the episode number (for example, the first episode of the second season would be episode 2.1); (b) the original airdate and the country that that airdate applies to; (c) the episode title. If you have more than one piece of information for the episode, by all means please submit them. During the process of submitting the episode, you will have the opportunity to add cast and crew members for the episode.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
