Adding a new title
I've submitted a new title and filled in some of the many other boxes, however, it's been returned: Reason Lack of supporting evidence. One of the things that I'm told that I need to do to fix it is: In the "Explanation for missing information" box at the top of the new title contribution form, add additional information detailing your case for your title to be listed on IMDb.
Could you tell me exactly where this box is, because I don't see it on the submitted update 230615-200137-840000. I don't see it at the top. Is it between
By the way, adding links to third party sites detailing the production, is pretty difficult to do when you're making low budget films outside of the film capitols of the world. One would think that if we have several other projects made, you might take the official film site as being enough.

Thomas: Please post your last full data submission here on this message board. You can copy it out of the receipt you would have received from IMDb by e-mail immediately after sending it in. Some of the regulars on the board may review it and, if they can, they may provide suggestions as to how to improve the submission to get it included in the database. (Also, please include the submission reference number -- it's an 18-digit number that will look something like 230123-123456-789000.)
I note that generally one would want to avoid having to fill out the "Explanation for missing information" section. If you submit at least the minimum required data for each section, you don't have to fill it in.
However, if it does apply, here is where you would find it. At a certain point during the new title submission process, you will get the following warning:
Below that will be a checkbox labeled "Provide information". Check that box, then click "Re-check these updates". On the next screen, there will be a box at that same point on the page labeled "Explanation for missing information".

Hello thomas_ely_sage,
I have checked the submission and it looks like the rejection is due to lack of evidence for our editors to confirm the title is eligible. I encourage you to re submit the title and provide with more evidence (trailer / behind the scenes video, production stills, third-party news articles, etc).
You can find information on what we consider good evidence and help on our New title help guides.

It's in pre-production. We're shooting in August, so no footage for trailers, bts photos, or production stills yet. I'll submit the poster.
I still couldn't find where "Explanation for missing information" is on the page.
Thanks.

TO IMDb. The new requirements for titles from IMDb penalize lower budget productions and short films which often do not have the ability to have the publicity to meet your submission requirements. I see this is a regular complaint since changing the requirements. Unless IMDb just wants to be a studio-only database, or festival screening database, I suggest you allow more leeway like it was before.
