Added DVDs that are constantly rejected

@gromit82​ I want you to see that it is all 'green' sheet...so that must be good.....but I have found some Dutch links, so I hope the DVD's will be in the database otherwise I quit with new titles ;-)

@Rebo​ Yes, by entering something in the "Explanation for missing information" you were able to get the form to turn green, but after you do so, an IMDb staffer will still have to read your explanation and see if they consider it a good enough explanation. Having the form turn green is necessary to getting a title into the database but not always sufficient.

This is exactly what the help says to add for title eligibity. What better way to prove a title exists than someone selling it?

Link to title on online retailers 

I was talking about the ”Misc Links” section specifically. At least to me it has never been a place to add links to online retailers (and such).

If people just want to add proof/links (but don’t want to add those links to the title page, permanently), they can e.g. tick the ”explanation” box and add the links there.

@eboy​ I think that policy needs to be clarified.

If someone is trying to show that a direct-to-DVD title is eligible for listing in the database, the instructions on the New Titles form indicate that the title "must be of general public interest and should be available to the public or have been available in the past." The instructions also say:

"General public interest is assumed if a work has been ...

• Listed in the catalog of an established video retailer; (e.g. Amazon.com)."

So naturally, I have assumed that an Amazon.com link would be considered a good Miscellaneous Link for submitting a new title to IMDb. I have submitted such links in the past, although it's been a few years since the last one I can find.

That should be considered a different situation from submitting sales links to IMDb once a title is already listed in the database. I understand if IMDb doesn't want sales links to be submitted for existing titles.

But for titles being newly submitted, I think the guides should be clarified to say that sales links to Amazon.com or elsewhere are indeed allowed.

I think the intention of that point was more like for preventing spam but not specified so clearly. A video retailer link like Amazon should be perfect for misc. links when submitting a new title.

The DVD's are not for sale on Amazon....

@Rebo​ Btw, I don't know what these DVDs are, but it seems you are adding it as feature film, but instead it should be "Made for Video" if these were direct-to-DVD titles.

Rebo: I notice that no major credits (nor any other credits) were submitted with these titles: no cast, no producers, no editors, etc.

Am I correct in saying that these titles are documentaries about a soccer (football) club? If so, there should at least be people to be listed in the Cast such as players, coaches, etc., whether in new footage or with an (archive footage) attribute. And I would assume that the documentaries have credits listing the producers, editors, etc.

Whenever one submits a new title to IMDb, one is supposed to include at least three credits from among the following categories: Cast, Writers, Producers, Editors, Cinematographers, and Composers. (They don't have to be from three different categories -- three people in the same category is sufficient.) Granted, I don't see credits listed for the Feyenoord voor altijd ... titles that are already in the database, but having some credits submitted would help get the new ones listed.

But never mind...I give up trying to put this in, it just doesn't work this way....

No I don't have the credits....otherwise I would have added it....
