Add rejection reason\status to your account's updates history

Hi,

On the account page where you can view your updates history, please add one or two column where we can see:
1. status (someone ignored it, someone will eventually add it etc. if applicable and such a process exist), but most importantly...
2. if the update was rejected, to state a reason (i.e. "this scene is only available on the TV version not DVD" or "frame-by-frame bugs are not allowed" etc.)

I am sure a lot of us submitted updates and some might have been rejected without us knowing what was wrong with them.

Thanks.

Perfect. A status and, if rejected, a reason so the contributor can correct and re-submit.

This would be very helpful.

Yes, users of this site contribute in a major way by updating data on the site. The minimum exchange for that contribution should be that the user is notified of the status of his update.

Hi,

We have recently launched a feature that does exactly this, called 'Track My Title'.  This initially only covers new title submissions, but we are planning to roll out to other types of data in the future.

You can find information regarding this feature in the following post https://getsatisfaction.com/imdb/topics/new-contribution-feature-launch-track-my-title

Cheers,

Rachel

Hi. I hope you can help me. My son has a principal credited role in Run All Night, and he was listed for over a year during post prod, but just before the film was released his credit was removed from IMDB. We saw the film twice and he's listed in the credits at the end of the film. I tried re--adding him two weeks ago. But haven't heard anything. Can you help? Thank you.

Start a new thread addressed to staff asking them to check on the status of the submission and include the Submission ID Reference Number which can be found in your account's "Site Settings" section under View your contributions, it's the 18 digit number in the left column. If you can, also upload a screen capture of his name appearing in the credits. If you don't have a way to get one, maybe watch it again and take a pic of the screen?? The evidence of your claim will help it go through usually. It can also be added by uploading it here and then putting a link to the thread here in the explanation field of the actual submission.

Thank you. The film was just released, so it'll be hard to get a screenshot unless we take a photoin the theater. I guess we'll have to wait until it comes out on video. I would hope that IMDB has the resources to verify information without me having to collect this evidence, but I will absolutely do this if it's not resolvedbefore it goes to video. Thank you for the thoughtful response.

Evidence collected and supplied to them in the submission makes it easier and faster to get your submissions approved. They have thousands of pieces of data to process and then thousands more tomorrow..and on and on. They cannot be expected to step out and watch the movie to see what's in the credits...they'd only get two, at best, submissions approved for the day. If they, instead, had a photo of the credits right there, it's processed in seconds and they're on to the next.

You certainly don't have to collect evidence and submit it. You could wait until someone else does it. With a high profile title like that, someone else will probably get to it fairly soon.

You're welcome!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Notification for successful added updates.

well, I just wondering if the update history page at IMDb given the status of the updates we already submit, whether it submitted, acknowledged, accepted, or rejected.
I submitted updates for Bachelorette (2012) soundtrack at 2012-12-27, since I have my updates added on the page after 5 days I submit it, I look after it every day after 5 days I submitted the updates.
But that update is not being added until 2013-01-10, when I could resubmit it. And I just resubmit that updates at 2013-01-10 02:58:32, it'll be very simple to us if we can track our submitted updates on update history page.
