In order to add an image to a name page, only the page owner can add/update images on their profile. For this an active IMDbPro membership is required and a claim on the IMDb name page as well.

Images can only be added to name pages by the individual themselves or a verified representative (family/manager/etc.). If the individual is deceased, only a living family or a legal representative would be allowed to claim the page and add images.
If we create a memorial service for listed individuals who have passed away, we'll announce it prominently on the site.
