Solved

Actors are shown under as itself but didnt play themself

I added the credits of the following movie today:

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt33355399/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_1_cdt_t_1

Its a documentary with play scenes, the actors of the play scenes were credited but without role names, now they are counted as themself and not as cast on their pages.

You can add the 'reenactment' keyword.

Tatjana: Peter is correct to say that the keyword reenactment should be added to the title's keyword section (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt33355399/keywords/) if this title has actors playing roles rather than themselves.

However, you would also need to list the characters that those actors are playing in the Cast listings. Right now, the cast of Aufstand im Bordell - Frauenhandel um 1900 (2024) (TV) includes 9 people listed as playing "Self", 1 person listed as playing "Narrator", and at least 20 people with no character name. In a documentary, a person will only be listed as having an Actor/Actress role if the title has the reenactment keyword and the person has a character name that begins with something other than the word "Self". No character name at all implies a Self role.

As an aside, this title also lists two cast members named Manfred Fuchs and two cast members named Julia Wozek. I assume that's an error and only one person by each of those names should be included.

Perhaps that ought to be changed.

Would IMDb accept a description such as "Actor" in the character name field?
