Actor/Director Ratings!

Why don't you let users rate actors and director's too? Or maybe even an aggregate score of all the films they've made so that it gives a fair representation of the quality of their career. It's mad that you don't have this feature, people would love to be able to compare the ratings of their biggest screen idols, just like they do for their films. The more user availability the better! Thank you, Oliver Maule; Marketing (BA, Hons) Graduate

IMDb already summarizes ratings for people listed. This is available in a person's Filmography section. Use the "Show by:" ratings drop down menu.

For example:
Henry Cavill [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0147147/fi...]
Anna Kendrick (I) [http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0447695/fi...]

The problem with the rating of people is that it could be open to abuse (either upwards or downwards).

I like the idea of an aggregate rating. however, there are complications - do you just do this for actors and directors? Should someone with an uncredited role really get the rating of the film they were on, even though it is highly unlikely their appearance made the film a success? Also how do you cope with someone who is an actor and director, like Tarantino (who has more acting than directing credits)?

I suppose the big problem is that I'd guess IMDB would say that there Starmeter system is a way to rank the popularity of anyone listed on IMDB and adding another system would just clutter things up and confuse users.

Thanks for the suggestion. However, at this time we don't have plans to introduce a rating/voting feature for names, sorry!
