Actor Photos in Character

It'd be a complex operation, as you'd first need a photograph of the actor as that character, then a staff member would need to check each one to ensure it'd fit the criteria for being an image thumbnail (which the majority of photographs don't fit), all for a rather tiny image in the end.

I suspect the amount of time and effort required for such a small change, would mean that this won't be implemented. However, if it got a lot of +1s then... who knows?

I don't think that this is a particularly good idea. The purpose of the thumbnail is to identify the actor, and the character photo will often not to that. For example, imagine someone is doing a show about KISS, but using other actors to reenact the scenes. The 'character' photo might well show the lead in full KISS make-up, so he looks like Gene Simmons.

I prefer the current version, and even if I didn't I certainly don't think the significant extra work this idea would entail is worth whatever minor benefit it might give some users.

Many (most?) times soneone researching info about a movie wants to identify who played a character in the movie. Having that person's current photo won't help, especially if the movie is a number of yesrs old. We need photos that match the actor as they were THEN.

Sometimes it can be hard to identify the actor / character on the cast listings. (ie. completely mask / high makeup / age) Would it be possible to post a picture / icon as they appear on film?
