Actor Name Change + Multiple Page Issues

Hello, I'm hoping someone here can help or direct me on how I can correct some issues I'm having with an actor's name and page merging.

I recently put a project of mine up on IMDb and misspelled one of my actor's names in the process The actor asked me to adjust it and also merge the 3 different IMDb pages they already have + the new one I'd just created. I managed to merge the one I'd created, but in doing so, the actor's main page took on my incorrect spelling. Now, after submitting for a name correction on that page, my misspelling is showing up as an "Alternative Name" on their profile, and all of their credits have a caveat for being credited "(as misspelled name)." How do I submit to have this removed?

The actor's main page in question is Jerry Schultz (VII). His credits also include Jerry Schultz (X), as well as the misspelled Jerry Shultz (I). I tried merging these and it was rejected due to insufficient evidence. Any advice on what I need to include for evidence? The actor's website is https://jerryschultzvoiceactor.com/ but he mainly includes commercial and educational credits there, so it can't exactly be used to corroborate.

Any help is appreciated!

Hi @keithmsutton -

Did you submit a deletion for the incorrect alternate name? If so, can we have the 18-digit submission reference?

Thanks!

Hi @Bethanny ,

There is no where in the Edit Page section that I found to submit a deletion for the alternate name. My 18-digit reference for the name change is #240221-220300-653000 . I'm guessing I didn't un-check the "Preserve previous name on existing credits" which is what's causing the issue.

Should I update all of the credits to remove the "(as Jerry Shultz)" attribute? That's the only solution I've found, but not sure if that'll remove the alternate name off of the page as well.

Thanks!

Hi @keithmsutton -

The incorrect alternate name listing ("as Jerry Schultz") has now been removed from those credits and the changes should be live on the site shortly.

To clarify, have all the separate pages since been combined?  Or are there still separate page listings?

Hi @Michelle

Thanks for the help! There are still 3 seperate listing for this actor. Jerry Schultz (VII) is the main listing. Jerry Schultz (x) and the misspelled Jerry Shultz (I) each need to be merged.

Please let me know if I just need to submit for these to be merged.

Thanks!

Hi @keithmsutton -

Thanks for confirming.  Yes, it seems all that is left to do is request to merge those final pages, which you can submit the request through our online Update form.  You can find detailed instructions on merging name pages on our Help Guide.

Let us know if you encounter any issues!

Hi @Michelle -

I went ahead with merging these listing, but the same issue occured. The attribute for "(as Misspelled Name)" is appearing under all of the actor's credits again. Are you able to help with this as you did before? Here's the most recent reference code:

#240224-233310-663000

Thank you!

Hi @keithmsutton,

I have now removed this attribute given it was inaccurately applied to the name page following a misspelling. This update should appear live across all IMDb platforms shortly.

I hope this helps!
