Accepting a solution & participation in the community forum.

Hello!

Firstly, thank you to everyone for their help. Discovering this board has been a godsend for me. I'm just trying to better understand how the badges and point systems work. I found a little bit of information, but nothing that clearly lays it out for me just yet. 

Does your activity on the community boards affect your meter rating? Also, It is proper to accept the solution after you post a question?  I think I have been doing that, but it's still telling me that zero solutions have been accepted. 

Is there a video or link that explains how to best participate in and utilize these boards?
