Accented characters

Of the accented characters provided by IMDb, I would like to know which of them they do accept.  I tried to use the "circ" accent and was advised it is NOT acceptable even though it is listed on their chart. Are there any more of them NOT acceptable?

Characters that are listed as supported by IMDb should of course be supported, and if not it could be an error. Could you be more specific about which character you are trying to use and where?

@Peter_pbn  I was using the "circ" character, the one that shows the rop part of a circle. I used the same procedures for it as I do with the other accented characters, namel;y &Xcirc; but each time it got rejected by IMDb

Where do you this character listed on a chart?

That particular character is shown in 9 (if I counted correctly) different places on the chart--twice in Columns 1 and 2 and 5 times in Column 4 the last column.

In the list of Accented characters, a number of characters with the circumflex are included, but not a character with the code &Xcirc;

I don't want to confuse you. My use of the X in my last response signifies the various letters that I used. I should have been more specific. If I recall I was using the letters O and o and A and a. As I do with all accented characters I do make sure the letter to be accented does agree with the chart; that that specific letter is contained therein.

Where we're you attempting to use the accented character? There may be differences between search fields, the various different kinds of contribution field and other places.

Could you also clarify what you mean when you say you were advised that the accent was not acceptable. Was this an error message from some part of the system? If so it will be easier to see what is going on if you can quote exactly what the error message says.

The question also suggests that you are entering HTML entities such as ô rather than the character itself such as ô. Do you get the same result in both cases?

Note also that 'circ' is short for circumflex.
