About person tag on title pictures

I wonder this for a long time now, is there some hidden benefit for it or what? Because when you tag someone on title pictures (still frame, event or others), it doesn't appear on that persons profile photos section, i think it should, because now i don't see the point of doing that. Some event posts sure, but on titles pictures i think it's useless now, because appart on that title you can't see them. I really think if you tag someone it should appear on their profile. I don't know about else, but mostly i check pictures of actors i like and i find some titles to watch.

Hi @ugnieska -

Only IMDbPro users with an active subscription can add pictures to their name page. We tag people on title images so people can know who is in the picture.

Thanks!

Hi, Bethanny. Your boss, the founder of IMDb, thinks your answer is awesome and gave it a thumbs up. However, I disagree, for the reasons outlined elsewhere in this thread, and I wanted to make sure that you and he understand it clearly..

Hi, ugnieska. What you've described is the way the system worked before the "add image" interface on IMDb title pages was made accessible to all IMDb members in the default standing or enhanced, and technically it still applies to images that had been uploaded to title pages prior to that time. Just so you know (and as the IMDb staff regularly fail to point out even to this very day), you can only claim an IMDb name page that is about you or somebody on whose behalf you have the rights to act, so don't bother trying to do this for anybody not conforming to the aforementioned use case, but indeed this particular process of claiming a name page does require an IMDbPro standard subscription. You may notice that some name pages have images showing in their galleries despite not having been claimed. Part of this is explained by the first sentence of this here paragraph of mine, and other aspects belong to other explanations.
