A Studios Awareness

Are the studios notified that we are contributing information for a particular tv show and/or movie? I've been trying to help my favorite shows in particular to provide more relevant information. Or on the other hand, are our contributions solely to help fellow fans alike?

Well, for every particular contribution, the specific identities of the people responsible for submitting it is not publicly disclosed, unless the corresponding contributors reveal it in some way. Apart from that, many functional studio organizations, not necessarily most, are well aware that the information found on IMDb is crowd sourced, with all manners of people in the crowd, including audiences and industry professionals. Your, my and our contributions are mostly to help the IMDb company, and by extension, also fans, hobbyists, researchers, connoisseurs, archivists, historians, journalists, scholars and philosophers, along with performers themselves who maybe haven't given much thought to the way they or their works are represented in/on IMDb, if they're even aware of the existence of IMDb. Does this answer the questions?

That being stated, basically the studios have no capability to extend gratitude to any particular contributor to IMDb, unless they can some how identify him or her. Just as well, there is no way to know exactly where to lay the blame whenever something goes wrong. To the best of my recollection, I've never seen any studio actually publicly acknowledge let alone thank any of the pseduonymous people who contribute to IMDb, Wikipedia, Fandom (Wikia) or other sites of the like, or who create interesting analyses of the works out of the various studios. Sometimes fans virally misinterpret things in movies or shows but in such a way that it actually inspires the makers of these things to adopt or appropriate the fans' interpretation in place of what was originally had in mind by the makers.
