A Laurel and Hardy film.

The Laurel and Hardy short film entitled on IMDb "His Kitty Conscience" is elsewhere entitled "Putting Pants on Philip". I own four books (including The Laurel and Hardy Encyclopedia) and none of them give an alternative title for "Putting Pants on Philip", so why do you? Try googling His Kitty Conscience!

"His Kitty Conscience" seems to have been changed recently from "new title" to "alternative title" so that it is displayed less prominently.

I don't know about the source, but the page includes a release date with the attribute "re-titled".

I've seen that page and it seems to me that it is IMDb that has "re-titled" it. The following books do NOT give alternative titles to Putting Pants on Philip:

The Movie: The Illustrated History of the Cinema (1981 Orbis Publishing Ltd.)

Halliwell's Film Guide (8th edition 1991)

The Macmillan International Film Encyclopedia (2nd edition 1994)

The Laurel and Hardy Encyclopedia by Glenn Mitchell (1995)

All four books give alternative titles to some other L&H films but not Putting Pants on Philip.

I've just had a look and the original title has been restored, however I would still be interested to know where His Kitty Conscience came from.
