A film on Imdb can be destroyed by review bombing

I'm really concerned about the integrity of IMDb ratings. Recently, the film "Jahangir National University" has been getting exceptional reviews and public acclaim in India, yet its IMDb rating is only 3.9 stars. This huge difference suggests possible manipulation to unfairly lower the rating.

I came across discussions on Reddit about techniques to manipulate IMDb ratings, which is really worrying. IMDb should be a reliable source for movie ratings, and it’s disheartening to see a great film like "Jahangir National University" being affected by such unfair practices.

Does anyone know what can be done to address this issue and possibly increase the film's rating to reflect its true reception?

Hello pnpblore,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Our voting system already detects and defeats attempts to stuff the ballot and skew the rating, as demonstrated by the difference between the weighted average and the arithmetic mean on the vast majority of titles in the database. For additional information about IMDb ratings and weighted averages, please refer to our FAQ.

Cheers!
